Where are AEDs Required by Law?
Twenty states in the U.S. currently have laws mandating AEDs in schools: Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.
Fourteen states also require AEDs in gyms and/or health clubs: Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Oregon, and Rhode Island.
Many local municipalities or states require AEDs in other places as well, like dental offices, swimming pools, and more. Check with your attorney to see if AEDs are required for businesses in your state or city if you aren’t sure. If you are required, or just want to be prepared for an emergency, this wall station is a great way to comply.
